Have you ever heard the expression "Garbage In, Garbage Out"? It means, quite simply, that if you start a job by putting garbage into your system, you will very likely get garbage as the final result. This concept certainly applies to the processes of Digitizing and Embroidery. Starting with clean artwork is an important first step. With our in-house custom digitizing service we can control how each embroidered logo sews and then tweak it as needed for different types of garment. It's this experience and our expertise that sets us apart. Like our slogan says...."When you want your name on it, Our name is what you want." Give us a try....we guarantee our work.
What is Digitizing? The term "DIGITIZING" is used to describe the process of taking a piece of artwork and transforming it into a format which can be read by an embroidery machine, enabling it to produce the stitched likeness. The better the artwork, the better the embroidered end result. While beautiful embroidery can be created, there are situations when modifications need to be made to accommodate the thread and complexity of a design. The thickness of thread is much greater than that of the ink you would see in printed artwork. It sometimes helps to draw a line on a piece of paper with a pencil or pen, then draw another line beside it with a crayon. That will roughly represent the difference between printed artwork and an embroidery of the likeness. Because the embroidery is dimensional, the finished product is very striking. Vector artwork is usually the best for digitizing. These files typically have a file extension of .eps, .ai, or .cdr. However, a high resolution .tiff or .jpg file will usually work in the absence of vector art. If you are unsure if your artwork is suitable for digitizing your logo, please send it to us at artwork@sigemb.com. We will promptly respond with a quote or contact you if we need additional information. |
